Tutankhamun is coming to Sydney!
As we speak the magnificent GEM is rising from the sands in Egypt. (see previous post) Once opened, it will house a huge collection of artefacts including the spectacular treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb.
Prior to that though, these treasures are on a world tour. For the first time in history, Tutankhamun’s treasures are travelling the world allowing even the most lowly mortal to gaze upon the brilliance. The exhibition will end upon Tutankhamun’s return to the GEM.
And Sydney is on the list of venues in 2020!
Sydney’s Australian Museum will build a $50 million dollar building specifically to house the treasures. An expected 800,000 visitors will marvel at the artefacts that have never before graced our shores! The exhibition is also celebrating the 100th year of discovery by Howard Carter.
So Sydney people, get ready for Tut mania!
